Axitinib

Well, it was a good run.

Cabozantinib and I have done the chemo dance for over two years now and until my most recent CT the drug has kept the tumour growth at a manageable amount. Unfortunately we’ve seen enough growth in the tumours that we suspect Cabozantinib has reached its past due date. This is not an uncommon circumstance where the drug loses efficacy over time.

Axitinib will be the sixth different treatment (both chemotherapy and immunotherapy) over the last six years, and I suspect it will treat my body much in the same way as all the rest. From what I’ve read, and what I’ve heard from Dr. R., I can expect mostly similar side effects with the addition of potential hypertension.

I guess the more things change the more they remain the same. Although saying Axitinib is way harder than Cabozantinib.

Either way they are both nibs and not mabs. (Inside joke for us cancer folk)
